Mother Nature’s Getting all Hot-n-Bothered

So, uhhh, how ‘bout those storms, Dallas?

I absolutely love summer storms.  The atmosphere has the same feeling about summer that I do — it’s just too damn hot and sometimes you gotta jump in the water to cool off.  Summer storms are like nature’s backyard sprinklers.  Flash floods are the poorly manufactured Slip-n-Slides; wildly unpredictable with no regard for human life whatsoever. Those things were so fucking dangerous! My mom wouldn’t buy us one, probably because she was cheap had a marginal level of regard for our safety, so I remember once I stole a tarp and a hose and some soap from my neighbors garage and pretended I was slippin’ n slidin’ with the cool kids.  Then I got 14 stitches and had to apologize to my neighbors for being such a failure at life.  Man, eight was a hard age.

Anyway, I snapped this pic while driving home from the recording studio. No biggie - just did a radio spot with a well known “Celebrity douChef.” I use quotation marks because I personally  wouldn’t use either of those words to describe this individual, so when I have to address him with BOTH words, together, as his title, it makes me lose all faith in the English language.  Can someone explain catch-phrases to me?  Wait, explain catch-phrases after  you’ve explained why anyone needs to wear sunglasses on the back of their head, at night.  Riddle me that, folks.

The only upside to nighttime recording sessions is the hooch. Yeah. It was 5:00 somewhere 4 hours ago. So let’s all pretend we’re working while we sit in the studio, check facebook and drink our asses off. Oh, we have to listen to each take? Hello, my name is consummate professional.

So, home now, eating candy that I borrowed from the studio and hoping that it rains tonight so that I can sleep like a drunken baby.

p.s. Anyone have pictures of the spider lightening??

Morning-after Update: it rained all night, per my request.  My blog is incredibly powerful.

Afternoon-after Update: Spider Lightening!! Ask and ye shall receive. Thanks Jim Bob!! For all you sports fans out there, I highly recommend JB’s blog. It’s all about… sports. duh.
